KAZUYUKI ENDA

Kazuyuki Enda was born in Akita Prefecture, Japan.

He majored in international politics and economics at Ritsumeikan University and joined Honda Motor Co., Ltd. after graduating.

In 2015, he left the company to become a musician and moved to the UK. After moving to the UK, he worked as a psychedelic/noise musician.

He began to create art works and painting in 2017. And he enrolled at University Arts London to specialize in conceptual art next year.

He calls himself an experimentalist, not artist, creating works in the way that best expresses the concept, regardless of materials or techniques.

While he use diverse expressions when he create, it is underpinned by a consistent theme of "translation and discrepancy".Through his own experience as a language translator, he came to believe that all expressions in the world are "translations".

He considers that expression is what memories, beliefs, events or landscapes manifested through the imperfect (hardly rationalized or systematized) translation machine called humans. And he believes that within what has been lost from the original meaning of the thing, or what has been added, through the process of translation, the individual's personality and essence can be seen.
